Tips on hand luggage
At the moment, please bear in mind that hand luggage is restricted, so some suggested items may have to be limited in order to fit into your bag.
Drinks:If you’re breastfeeding try and coincide feeding with taking off and landing to help prevent the pain associated with ears popping.
For toddlers or younger children try to encourage them to suck on a sweet.
You are permitted to take baby milk, juice and sterilised water, but you will be asked to taste by the accompanying passenger.
You are able to take empty containers such as bottles, flasks or beakers.
Snacks:Try simple snacks such as crisps, pop corn, rice cakes, sandwiches, fruit. You know your child’s likes and dislikes.
Liquid baby food and powdered food can be taken on board. Liquid baby food must be tasted by the accompanying passenger. Powdered food does not need to be tasted.
Nappies: It is worth taking enough nappies for the journey there and back.
Small plastic bags: these are ideal for storing remnants of snacks or sticky wipes etc.
Toys: take small toys like cars, crayons, small jigsaws, colouring books etc. The smaller items can be stored in the little net bags you sometimes get for washing tablets. If your child is old enough, get them to carry these in their own hand luggage.
Extra clothes: It might be advisable to take an extra T-shirt for you, baby and the toddlers. It can also sometimes get a bit warm in the airplane cabins.
