A day at the Beach
We are lucky to have some gorgeous beaches here in the UK. One of our favourites is the beach in Talacre, North Wales. Not only is it close to home, but it has the attraction of miles of sand with little else there. The children can run and play on the sand, so take a ball, buckets and spades and a picnic for a great day out. The beach is quite a walk as it’s surrounded by huge sand dunes and the car park is a bit of a bumpy ride, but you won’t here cries of “Can I have” because there’s nothing to buy!
Another beach we fell in love with, but is sadly to far for us for a day trip, is Black Rock sands. Another fantastic sandy beach that goes on forever. Parking is available on the beach for a small charge. Again take a picnic, balls and spades for a whole day out. Read more
North Wales - Places to Go

We spent a week at Easter staying in a cottage a few miles from Porthmadog, North Wales. Set within a breathtaking valley and a short drive from one of the most fantastic beaches I’ve visited, it was a holiday that we all enjoyed.
We booked our cottage through Hoseasons. Having only stayed in a cottage many years ago I truthfully didn’t expect anything particularly homely. How wrong I was. We stayed at Plas-Y-Pennant in Cwm Pennant, which translates to Coombe Valley. Our cottage was a two bedroomed cottage, which was the middle of 3 cottages, the owners living in one the other a larger cottage was able to accomodate 8 people. Read more
