Days Out in the UK

27 January 2009

A day at the Beach
We are lucky to have some gorgeous beaches here in the UK. One of our favourites is the beach in Talacre, North Wales. Not only is it close to home, but it has the attraction of miles of sand with little else there. The children can run and play on the sand, so take a ball, buckets and spades and a picnic for a great day out. The beach is quite a walk as it’s surrounded by huge sand dunes and the car park is a bit of a bumpy ride, but you won’t here cries of “Can I have” because there’s nothing to buy!
Another beach we fell in love with, but is sadly to far for us for a day trip, is Black Rock sands. Another fantastic sandy beach that goes on forever. Parking is available on the beach for a small charge. Again take a picnic, balls and spades for a whole day out.
For more beaches look at the Good Beach Guide.

Visit the local library. Not only can you read a book, but some libraries have things going on during the holidays.
Enjoy a maze
MazeIt doesn’t have to be hot and sunny to enjoy a maze. There a many around the country. Nearby for example we have maize maze each summer. If we’re in the middle of a down pour it is possibly not the best place to be, but on a dry day with a picnic you’ll keep them entertained for a good few hours as well as tiring them out! Take a look at mazes nearby.
