Mallorca

Mallorca can get quite busy in high season and is not as quiet as it’s sister Menorca and perhaps isn’t the place to go if you want a relaxing break away from the mayhem of everyday life. However, it has some fantastic sandy beaches and array of sports and activities on offer. Flights from the UK take approximately 2 hours and you’ll fly to Palma airport.

Lanzarote, Spain

Lanzarote has proved to be one of the most popular all year round destinations thanks to its warm climate and almost guaranteed sunshine. Flights take you to Arrecife and take about 4ΒΌ hours from the UK. It is only 37 miles long and 12 miles wide, so getting around the island is relatively easy. You can usually be guaranteed warm weather in Lanzarote and sunshine making it an excellent choice of destination if you’re looking for some winter sunshine.

Menorca

Menorca is an ideal holiday for young children and babies. It is a small and picturesque island off the south coast of Spain with more beaches that its neighbours, Majorca and Ibiza . If you are looking for a relaxing break then Menorca is for you. However, the island really is small and if you have children who want more than a beach and a pool you may find yourself running out of things to do especially if the weather is not so good. Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

Read about our family holiday to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote in August 2006. We stayed in Burgado in a private villa. We visited nearby Papagayo beaches and El Golfo during our one week stay.
